		News ISSA Corporate Actions WG 21 January 2010 The group published a set of proposed global principles for handling corporate actions and asked its members and interested parties to comment, and to help gather information on local or regional market initiatives in the field of corporate actions. > Details ISSA Asset Servicing WG renamed 14 January 2010 The ISSA Asset Servicing WG was renamed ISSA Corporate Actions WG to better reflect the WG's scope. ISSA end of year newsletter 28 December 2009 In lieu of Christmas cards, the chairman's office sent a short newsletter to all members. Proposed G30/ISSA Tax Model (Update) 2 November 2009 On October 19, 2009, the European Commission adopted a recommen-dation that outlines how EU member states could make it easier for investors resident in EU member states to claim withholding tax relief on dividends, interest and other securities income received from other member states. The recommendation bears a very close resemblance to the procedures outlined in the proposed G30/ISSA Tax Model first published in 2005. The EU recommendation marks an important milestone on the way towards turning the model into reality. > EU Commission communication Meanwhile, on a global level, similar work is progressing within the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD. ISSA is among a group of parties that have provided funding to support the BIAC/OECD project through 2010. ISSA Working Group "Liability of a fund depositary bank" (update) 20 October 2009 The Working Group "Liability of a fund depositary bank" has just published its paper providing background information relating to intermediary chains engaged in safekeeping and recording of UCITS assets. > UCITS Depositary Functions - Risks and Liabilities (262 kB) ISSA Mutual Funds Working Group (update) 14 October 2009 The working group has completed its final report and guiding principles for making investment funds processing in Europe more efficient. > Mutual Funds Working Group ISSA Working Group "Liability of a fund depositary bank" (update) 10 September 2009 The working group has sent a letter of comment to the EU Commission and is now drafting an educational paper. > ISSA Working Groups New ISSA Working Group "Liability of a fund depositary bank" 10 June 2009 At its meeting held in Zurich in May 2009, the ISSA Board decided to set up a new ISSA working group dealing with potential liabilities of a fund depositary bank. > ISSA Working Groups New ISSA member 10 February 2009 The Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation joins ISSA with immediate effect. > Member list
