Report on the Verification of Valuations

The 2007 ISSA Regional Meetings had highlighted the key challenges
in OTC derivatives processing from the perspectives of a fund manager,
a broker and a third party administrator or custodian. Following the
meetings, the ISSA OTC Derivatives Working Group was created. Its
mandate was to identify very tangible issues with the potential for
material quick wins at the practitioner level.
Under the leadership of Jon Lloyd of JP Morgan, the Working Group
has now completed its first report
on the verification of valuations of OTC derivatives. The best
practice recommendations outlined in the report achieve a degree of
clarity and practical resolution that the industry will find of considerable
use. Any comments
on the report are invited.

ISSA Roundtable on a European Funds Data Base
25 March 2008
The ISSA Fund Workging Group held a a roundtable with the leading
European financial instrument data vendors and with the European Fund
an Asset Management Association EFAMA, at La Hulpe on March 7.
The purpose of the roundtable was to discuss the interest and feasibility,
and to agree on some high level principles for the creation of a central
funds database in Europe, building on the EFAMA Fund Processing Passport.
The most valuable aspect of the meeting was to bring such a group
of relevant parties to the table and have them share their views,
needs and expectations. And although immediate progress cannot be
expected, the mood at the end of the roundtable was encouraging.

ISSA endorses Nordic Securities Processing and Operations Summit
9 October 2007
ISSA is supporting the Nordic Securities Processing and Operations
Summit to be held in Stockholm on December 3 and 4, 2007 followed
by two half-day interactive workshops on December 5, 2007. This pan-European
event focuses on how to optimize efficiency across securities processing
operations, effective risk management, and increase profitability
through superior client service.
