ISSA Recommendations 2000

The 10th ISSA Symposium, held in Ermatingen, Switzerland from the 23rd to 26th of May 2000, endorsed a series of recommendations proposed by an ISSA board-working group. These update the 1989 G30 recommendations and extend their scope to accommodate the changes in infrastructure that have occurred over the last decade as well as the growth in international investment. The recommendations also have a greater focus on technology.

It is expected that the ISSA 2000 recommendations will provide a template for quality for future market developments and structures.

The eight recommendations cover issues of securities systems' governance, technology, technical standards, market practise, settlement risk, market linkages, investor protection and legal infrastructure.
